Weddings / Civil Unions

Julie specialises in weaving a couple’s unique love story into
a meaningful expression of their love.  She can help you to make it unforgettable, exciting, relaxed, friendly, and most of all, fun and inspiring.

“I am passionate about being a celebrant, empowering others
to make their dreams a reality. Your wedding day is a milestone
in your life, a day to remember forever…
I love working with a couple to individualise
their ceremony so it reflects the people they are!”

Many couples nowadays are deciding to make their commitment more personal.
Julie is able to help make this precious moment complete. She can arrange the venue, a gourmet meal afterwards and accommodation for you.

Imagine going away for the weekend and coming home as legal partners!
The Matakana Coast is a great place for this to take place, just an hour’s north of Auckland. There are restaurants, cafes, wineries, a brewery, boutique movie theatres, beaches, walks and the famous Matakana market.  She can guide you as to what activities would interest you the most!

Master of Ceremony

Along with her celebrant role, Julie is happy to assist you
with the more formal side of your reception.

Julie understands your loss and is able to support you in
crafting a ceremony to celebrate the life of your loved one
and reflect the unique person they were.

“I know how it feels to lose someone dear to you.
The need to encapsulate the essence of this person is challenging,
yet at the same time, very rewarding.”

She is able to guide you through the planning of this ceremony and has many resources to assist you with appropriate readings and poems.
If you would like her to write the eulogy for you,
she is able to “be your voice.”

The term “housewarming” is descended literally from the act  of warming a new house, in the days before central heating. Each guest would bring firewood and build fires in the available fireplaces, offering firewood as a gift. Aside from warming the house, this was also believed to repel evil spirits by creating a protective atmosphere of warmth.

Nowadays a housewarming ceremony fulfils a similar function in that it says to your guests  “this is our new home –  welcome, you belong here anytime.”
Some people prefer a House Blessing, which can have some religious or cultural content.  This can be incorporated in your Housewarming, or a separate ceremony.

I wrote my first Housewarming ceremony for Waimahu our Bed and Breakfast,
which is nearly complete. This ceremony will be a housewarming, blessing
and product launch for our BnB and Event Venue. I look forward to the day
that this planning can become reality!!
